2. General principle: No data collection

This website follows a privacy-first approach. No personal data of visitors is stored, analyzed, or passed on to third parties. No tracking technologies, analytics frameworks, advertising networks, or social media plugins are used. No cookies are set beyond what is technically necessary for operation.

3. Hosting and server logs

This website is hosted on a self-operated server. When the website is accessed, the web server temporarily records the following data in server logs for technical reasons:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • URL requested
  • Browser and operating system used (user agent)
  • HTTP status code

This data is used solely to ensure technical operation and for error diagnosis. It is not linked to specific individuals. Logs are automatically overwritten after a maximum of 7 days. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure operation of the website).

4. Contact form

The support page of this website offers the option to submit a message via a contact form. The data entered — typically name, email address, app version, iOS version, and a description of the issue — is used solely to process the respective request.

The submitted data is forwarded to the controller by email and is not stored in a database. It is not passed on to third parties. The data is deleted once the request has been fully processed and no statutory retention obligations apply.

Processing of the data entered in the contact form is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to the use of one of the apps offered, and otherwise on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling user inquiries).

5. Apps on the Apple App Store

The apps presented on this website — BookStax, Mobile MA, dock-g, and gyokuro — do not transmit any personal data to the developer. The apps connect exclusively to the server configured by the user. Credentials, API tokens, and comparable authentication information are stored locally in the iOS Keychain of the device and are not transmitted to the developer. There is no developer-operated backend that receives usage data or telemetry from the apps.

The apps are distributed via the Apple App Store. The data processing carried out by Apple in this context is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, available at apple.com/privacy.

The gyokuro app offers an optional subscription called “Unlimited”. Distribution and billing for this subscription are handled exclusively through the Apple App Store. No payment or purchase data is transmitted to the developer. Apple provides the developer only with aggregated, anonymized sales statistics. Apple’s Family Sharing feature can be used for the subscription; it is fully managed by Apple.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights with respect to any personal data processed about you:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)

To protect forms on this website against automated abuse and spam, I use the service Friendly Captcha (Friendly Captcha GmbH, Am Anger 3-5, 82237 Wörthsee, Germany).

Friendly Captcha does not collect any personal data and does not set cookies. All processing takes place exclusively on servers within the European Union. No data is transferred to third countries.
